Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with former coach Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first title after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface since March of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.
The opponent rescued four early chances in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
